Bio
Beth Malcom (she/her) is the outgoing President & CEO of the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association. She grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors in Psychology and Criminal Justice, and a Masters in Counseling and Counselor Education. She spent seven years working with teens and young adults as a licensed mental health and addictions counselor in Indianapolis before returning to Kentucky in 2011 to work for the Kentucky YMCA.
As part of her work with the Y, Beth serves as the founding chair of the Alliance of Kentucky and West Virginia YMCAs D&I Taskforce and as a member of the YMCA of the USA national Diversity, Inclusion, and Global Leadership Council. She is also a national consultant for DEI work in the YMCA — guiding other Ys in increasing their commitment and efficacy in DEI work. Outside of the Y movement, Beth is also a proud board member for the Louisville Youth Philanthropy Council.
Beth is committed to uplifting youth voice and agency in a nation that shuts out and shuts down youth engagement and decision-making power. Through her work, volunteerism, and personal approaches to the everyday, she strives to be a part of a community that recognizes the critical need to have intentionally-marginalized people at all of the tables, to strengthen our communities and better the lives of all.
