Bio

Aiden Vilo (he/him) is the press corp coordinator for The New Edu, leadership team member, and a SANE liaison. Aiden joined KSVT his freshman year, serving in a fellowship for the organization’s student-run podcast Get Schooled. He continued his work during sophomore year when the progenitor of The New Edu, The Student Voice Forum, began to transition. Since then, he has facilitated KSVT’s Press Corp, served as a piece editor, and delved into a wide array of storytelling opportunities and concepts affecting Kentucky students. He is particularly interested in the inequities in student learning and decision-making within schools. In 2023, he was appointed as a liaison between the Student Action Network for Equity (SANE) and KSVT. He is thankful for KSVT introducing him to civic-centered work and for the community he has found within the organization. Aiden is a senior at DuPont Manual High School in Louisville, Kentucky. Outside of KSVT, he leads his school’s Creative Writing and Future Problem Solving clubs, and conducts scientific research. He enjoys reading, writing, drinking tea, and taking walks in the natural environment.
